Lucario near a Trophy Stand in the Battleship Halberd Interior.

The Battleship Halberd Interior is the twenty-third level in The Subspace Emissary. It is a large level and is the first Battleship Halberd level out of three Battleship Halberd levels total. It is also the longest Battleship Halberd level. The Battleship Halberd Interior has a lot of enemies and features. It features moving blue gates that lower when an enemy has been defeated, brown platforms that deplete when all enemies in a certain area are defeated, blue rays and a pink switch (which cannot be touched but appears to the top of the screen to the right) that appear when a switch has been hit, as well as an alarm that is heard during that, which tell the player a gate has been lowered or a brown platform has been removed and Doors similar to the ones in Research Facility (Part 1), Research Facility (Part 2), and the later Subspace Bomb Factories 1 and 2, but are brown in color. The Battleship Halberd Interior has a lot of Orange Cubes, about a total of four.

Plot

When the player plays this level for the first time, the first cutscene plays, showing Snake revealing himself from his cardboard box on board the Battleship Halberd (the box had previously been shown inside the Battleship Halberd). As he does so he says a famous line, "Kept ya waiting, huh?" After a section of the level, a hallway is shown, and Lucario and Meta Knight are seen rushing down it after they boarded the ship, following the events of The Glacial Peak. They go dashing past the cardboard box in the hall, but Lucario turns around and looks at the box with its Aura. Lucario sees Snake's blue (which is good Aura) Aura through the box. When Lucario lifts the box and throws it, an exclamation point appears over Snake's head and the familiar "discovered" sound from the Metal Gear Solid series is heard. Snake readies himself in an attack position, and so does Meta Knight. Lucario, however, shows Meta Knight that Snake's Aura is good, so he is not an enemy. Lucario then turns to look over Meta Knight's shoulder, again looking with Aura, and sees a group of incoming Primids and their intense red (which is evil Aura) Aura, and so, the three advance to attack them. Near the end of the level, the group comes to face Shadowbug versions of Peach and Zelda that were created from their caged Trophies. After they are defeated, the real Peach and Zelda are freed from their cages and revived. Snake, however, motions for them to stay where they are. He leaves with Lucario and Meta Knight as the princesses exchange a knowing glance.

Walkthrough

When the player begins, he will be in a small room with a Door. The player should run to the Door and enter it. The player will be in a room with brown floors and pipes and vents in the background. Two Primids will near the player. After they are defeated, the player should begin moving. He will encounter two Primids and a Scope Primid. After they are defeated, the player should move to shortly find another Scope Primid. After it is defeated, the player should move to shortly find a Sword Primid jumping towards the player from a lower part of floor ahead of the player. After it is defeated, the player should run to and fall to the lower part of floor ahead of him. Above him are two falling blocks connected to a small floor and more falling blocks on the other side of it. The player should jump onto the falling blocks, and run to the small floor. Up here, there are five more falling blocks that create a bridge. There is no way to avoid falling down with them, for a wall blocks the path at the last falling block. The player should run on the first falling block, in which, is closest to the player. When it falls, the player will land on the first falling block of five more falling blocks. That first falling block will fall through a platform underneath it. When the player lands on this platform, he should notice a pink switch in the first falling block's place on the wall. The player should hit the switch revealing a Door on a floor lower than the platform the player landed on (in which he is on now). The player should run to and enter the Door. If he cannot get through, he should jump on more falling blocks and let them fall. Then, the player should enter the Door. Inside, is a Door to the left of the player leading outside, a set of falling blocks above the player, a set of falling blocks on the floor that create a bridge over spikes, a group of three brick blocks blocking the player's path, and another set of brick blocks to the right of the highest brick block in the group of three brick blocks above it. In between the falling block set and the brick block set is a Flame Jyk. An Orange Cube is on the falling block set above the player. How does the player get there in such a maze? He should follow these steps carefully. He should break the three brick blocks blocking his path. A Turquoise Cube at the end of the room across the falling block set over the spikes will come into view. The player should run across the falling blocks set over the spikes and bust open the Turquoise Cube. The Cube should give the player two Stickers or a Trophy. The player should now break a few brick blocks over him. Now, he should jump on the remaining brick blocks, run over them, jump over the Flame Jyk and bust open the Orange Cube. The falling blocks that it and the player are on will fall, and so will you and the Orange Cube's collectible (s). After the collectible (s) is/are collected, the player should exit the room. Outside, the player should notice a small ladder leading to the top of falling blocks' area above him with a visible top. The player should climb this ladder to the top. At the top, two Primids and a Sword Primid will near the player, and a Scope Primid is in view behind them. After they are defeated, the player should go for the Scope Primid. After it is defeated, the player should continue moving. He will encounter another falling block bridge with no wall blocking the path. Beneath these falling blocks is a large gap so the player should run over this falling block set without stopping. At the end, the player will be on a floor. A Scope Primid is nearby. After it is defeated, the player should continue moving to find a Door shortly. The player should enter the Door. Inside, the player will be falling down a tunnel. He will soon land on a floor. Two Primids will near the player. After they are defeated, another Primid will near the player. After it is defeated, a Primid will fall down the tunnel the player just fell down from. After it is defeated, the player should begin moving to find a Primid at the end of the floor. After it is defeated, the player should fall down to a green platform. Then the player should jump to a platform beneath him to his right. Above the platform the player is on now, is another green platform with two Maxim Tomatoes. It is not recommended to use the Maxim Tomatoes unless the player has a high Damage percentage. If so, the player should jump to that platform and use the Maxim Tomatoes. A Scope Primid on a floor to the right of the player and a green platform underneath the platform the player is on to the right will come into view. The platform is connected to a wall. Now the player should press the down button on the Wii Remote's D-pad to drop through the green platform and land on the green platform he used to jump here. Two more green platforms on opposite sides underneath the platform the player is on touching walls will come into view. The player should jump/fall to one of these green platforms. Beneath him is a floor. The player should fall to this floor. If the Scope Primid on the floor above you saw you, it may fall here. If it does, the player should defeat it. After it is defeated, the player should notice brown platforms, one underneath another in the middle of the floor. The player can only see three, however that is the number of brown platforms there are. The number of platforms deplete by one when a pink switch is hit after defeating enemies. The player should run left. At the end is a green platform with a ladder. The player should climb down this ladder. The player will land on a brown platform with a floor beneath it. The player should fall to this floor to find a Spaceshifting Wormhole spawning Mites. Primids will fall to the ground as well. After the enemies are defeated, and the Spaceshifting Wormhole is destroyed, the player should jump to a brown platform. Up here, the player will find more brown platforms. The player should jump on the highest platform. There is a switch on the ceiling. When it is hit, an alarm will sound, and blue rays and a pink switch to the right of the screen will come into view. They're telling the player that a brown platform has been removed. The rays and switch will soon disappear as always. The player should fall back to the floor. Here, the player should jump to a higher part of floor to the left of the player with a Scope Primid on it. After the Scope Primid is defeated, the player should notice a green platform with a ladder to the left of the player beneath him. The player should fall to the green platform and slide down the ladder. At the bottom is a Scope Primid. After it is defeated, the player should continue moving to find a Turquoise Cube at the end. The player should bust it open. It should give the player two Stickers or a Trophy. Now, the player should run back to the ladder and climb it to the top. On the green platform is a Primid, in which, WASN'T EVEN THERE BEFORE!! After it is defeated, the player should jump on the higher part of floor. Now, he should fall to the lower floor and run to the brown platform with the ladder, then stop underneath it. Now, the player should jump to the ladder and climb it to the top. At the top, the player should run right. At the end is a small tunnel. The player should drop down it. He will land on a floor with two Springs and a lower floor to the right beneath it. The player will start to see a brown platform, a Cymul "orbiting" the brown platform, and a few Floows nearing the player. The player should drop down to the lower floor to find a Spaceshifting Wormhole in midair, a Primid, and two Springs in the left corner. It is the Spaceshifting Wormhole that is spawning the Floows. After the enemies are defeated, which includes the Floows, Cymul and two Primids (one Primid falls after another is defeated), and the Spaceshifting Wormhole is destroyed, the player should jump, double jump, and up-special to a brown platform. Another switch is on the ceiling and a second brown platform is in view too. When the switch is hit, the same blue rays and and pink switch are seen and an alarm is heard, telling you a brown platform has been removed. Now, the player should fall to the floor. He should run right to find two Springs. The player should jump on them and move right land on a floor with a group of nine brick blocks, in rows of three, blocking the path. When they are destroyed, the player should notice a Door above him to his right on the other side of the wall. How on planet Earth does the player get here? Follow these steps carefully. The player should run to the wall and jump right. He will land on a higher part of floor inside the wall. Now the player should jump right again to land on the floor with the Door. The player should enter the Door. The player will be on a floor with a floor above him. The floor above the player has a Turquoise Cube and a Spaceshifting Wormhole spawning Glires: two going left and three going right in view. The floor's end (we're talking about the floor above the player) is not seen. The player should run to find a Fire Primid at the end of the room, and a platform above it that the player can use to jump to the higher floor. The player should defeat the Fire Primid, and any Glires that come by. After they are defeated, the player should quickly jump on the platform then to the higher floor before more Glires come by. At the top, the player should run to the Spaceshifting Wormhole defeating any Glires in his way. After they are defeated, and the Spaceshifting Wormhole is destroyed, the player should defeat any Glires on the ceiling. After they are defeated, the player should run to find a Turquoise Cube and an Orange Cube. The player should bust open the Cubes and collect their collectible (s). The Turquoise Cube will give the player two Stickers or a Trophy. Now, the player should run to and fall to the lower floor and exit the room. If the player enters this room again, the Fire Primid, Glires, and Spaceshifting Wormhole will be back here. This hidden Door is one of the few hidden Doors to have enemies in it. Outside, the player should fall to floor, in which, the brick blocks were. The player should notice a black opening in the wall is what made him go through it! Anyway, the player should fall to the lower floor. A Primid and a Cymul, which were there before, are here. After they are defeated, a second Primid will fall. After it is defeated, the player should run left to find Springs. The player should jump on the Springs and move left. The player will land on a floor with two Springs. The player should jump on the Springs and move left to land on the floor with the brown platforms. He should run to the green platforms and stay underneath the closest by. The player should jump onto this green platform. Now, he should jump on another green platform above him. Up here, the player should on a floor with a Scope Primid to his right. The player cannot go to the platform with the Maxim Tomatoes, for the Maxim Tomatoes are not there. Anyway, on the floor, the player should defeat the Scope Primid. After it is defeated, the player should run to a higher part of floor and jump on it. Up here, the player should jump onto an even higher part of floor. He will hear a Spaceshifting Wormhole spawning, and a Bytan or more Bytans will near the player. The player should jump to the lower floor. He should run to the Spaceshifting Wormhole. An Armight will appear. Soon, another Armight will appear. After the enemies are defeated, and the Spaceshifting Wormhole is destroyed, a pink switch will appear on the ceiling. However, not both of the Armights should be defeated to make the switch appear. When the switch is hit, the blue rays and pink switch will appear and an alarm is heard, meaning that the last brown platform has been removed. Now the player should jump on the higher part of floor and fall to the lower floor. Now the player should drop through the green platforms and land on the floor. Now in the middle of the floor is a green platform with a ladder beneath it. The player should fall here and slide down the ladder. The player will land on a green platform. He should drop through the platform onto the floor. A Door is on the left. HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!!! To the right of the player is an Orange Cube. The player should bust open the Orange Cube. After collecting its collectible (s), the player should enter the Door. He will enter a forced battle against Sword Primids, Shaydas, and an Autolance. The screen will lighten up the room revealing a floor and three green platforms in midair, the one in the middle being the highest, and darken the room repeatedly. After the enemies are defeated, a Door will appear on the platform in midair to the right. The player should jump on the platform and enter the Door. The player will be in a room with an orange arrow pointing right. Suddenly, the screen will darken and the room is only lit by lights on the floor. Here, the player should follow these steps carefully until he has successfully made it out of the area. The player should run right until he reaches a higher part of floor. The player should jump here. Up here, the player should jump to an even higher part of floor. Up here, the path is split by what looks like a gap and a Scope Primid is standing on a floor on the opposite side. The player should fall down the gap. He will land on a floor with a switch. A Buckot will near the player. After it is defeated, the player should hit the switch. It will lighten up the place. Now the player should be quick. He should jump on the floor on his right. Up here, he should jump over a spiked floor, and fall to a lower floor. A switch on the ceiling should soon reactivate and darken the place. When it does so, the player should hit the switch. Now the player should be quick again. The player should jump over a gap, onto a floor. A Buckot will near the player. The player should quickly defeat it with an aerial attack. After it is defeated, the player should jump onto a higher part of floor, and fall to a lower floor with a switch and Turquoise Cube. The switch should soon reactivate and darken the place. When it does so, DON'T HIT THE SWITCH! Bust open the Turquoise Cube. It should give you an item. The player can either carry or leave the item alone. Now, he should hit the switch to lighten up the place. The player should be quick. He should run right and fall to a lower floor. A Scope Primid is here. The player should quickly defeat it. An almost fully charged smash attack should get rid of it. After it is defeated, the player should run right to find three Roaders that will charge at the player, one after another. After they are defeated, the player should continue moving to find a Door with a Fire Primid next to it. After the Fire Primid is defeated, the player should enter the Door. The player will be in a well lit room, perhaps the brightest room in the level. The player should run right and pass a ladder to find a Bombed near a set of six blue gates. After the Bombed is defeated, blue rays and a pink switch are seen and a blue gate will lower. An alarm is also heard telling you on blue gate has been lowered. The player should run to the ladder and climb it to the top. At the top the player should run right and fall to a lower floor. A Primid will near the player and a Towtow is heard sleeping. After the Primid is defeated, blue rays and a pink switch are seen, and an alarm is heard, telling the player a blue gate has been lowered. The Towtow will wake up. The player should run right and jump on a higher part of floor. The player will notice a green platform with a ladder above him, a platform sticking out of the wall with two Springs and a Cymul circling over it, and a green platform with a Turquoise Cube beneath the player to his right. The player should go to the green platform with the Turquoise Cube and bust the Turquoise Cube open. It turns out that the green platform also has a short ladder (its base and the floor it leads to can be seen when on the green platform) other than the Turquoise Cube. The Turquoise Cube will usually give the player a Starman. Now, the player should climb down the ladder on the green platform to a lower floor with a Nagagog. A Metal Primid is heard running. After the Nagagog is defeated, the blue rays and pink switch are seen, and the alarm is heard, telling the player a blue gate has been lowered. The player should run right and jump onto a higher part of floor with a spiked floor on it. The player should jump over the spiked floor. The player should now climb the ladder to the right of him to the top. At the top, the player should defeat the Metal Primid there. After it is defeated, blue rays and a pink switch are seen, and an alarm is heard, telling the player a blue gate has been lowered. The player should climb down the ladder, jump over the spiked floor, and fall down to the lower floor, in which the Nagagog, was on. The player should climb the ladder and jump to the higher floor on the player's left. Up here, the player should jump to the higher platform to the right with the Springs and Cymul above it. After the Cymul is defeated, the blue rays and pink switch are seen, and an alarm is heard, telling the player a blue gate has been lowered. Now the player should jump on the Springs and move right to find a floor extending out of the wall with nothing but an Orange Cube. The player should bust open the Orange Cube and collect its collectible (s). Now the player should fall back to the platform with the Springs. Now, the player should jump to the green platform with a ladder to the left of this platform and climb it to the top. At the top, the player should move left to find a Towtow, the last enemy in the area and entire level (excluding the False Princesses you battle next). After it is defeated, blue rays and a pink switch will appear, and an alarm is heard, telling the player the last blue gate has been lowered. Now the player should run right and climb down the ladder. At the bottom, the player should drop through the green platform to land on a floor. He should run left, and jump onto a higher part of floor. Now the player should slide down the ladder and run right. He will run past where the blue gates and Bombed were once blocking the path, and find a Door. The player should enter the Door. He will enter a battle against two False Princesses- False Zelda and False Peach. Items will fall to help the player defeat them. After they are defeated, the level is complete.
