Cheep-Cheeps are enemies who appear in Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Paper Mario, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Party 8, and Mario Super Sluggers. They usually swim in water, and have the ability to bounce around out of water. Touching them results in Mario losing a form or wedge of health from his Health Meter (Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 only) or even death if Mario is at small form. In Super Mario Galaxy, they only appear in the Deep Dark Galaxy. In this galaxy, they only appear in missions 2 and 3. In the second mission, they appear on the Cheep-Cheep Planet, on a half with a thin layer of water, bouncing up and down on the planet. They can be defeated by a Spin or jump on them. One appears in the third mission, underwater. It can only be defeated by a Spin or a Green Shell. They are also seen in the video at the end of the game, where they are jumping out of the water near Peach's Castle. In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, they are common enemies colored in red and golden (the golden ones are known as Eep Cheeps and swim away from the player). They just swim about in the water. The golden Cheep-Cheeps are found in schools known as Cheep-Cheep Schools. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Cheep-Cheeps are more common than in Super Mario Galaxy, appearing in water-themed galaxies such as the Cosmic Cove Galaxy and Starshine Beach Galaxy. However, they don't hop on land. They are found swimming in a certain area near the surface. They can be defeated with a Spin, jump, or eaten by Yoshi, They cannot be stunned with by Star Bit from the Star Cursor. In Mario Kart Wii, Cheep Cheeps, along with Unagis, are found swimming outside the underwater tunnel of Koopa Cape. Cheep Cheeps appear as enemies, once again, in Super Paper Mario. Cheep Cheeps make two cameo appearances in Mario Party 8. One Cheep Cheep is found in the minigame, Rowed to Victory. They appear in the background watching the players row their boat. After that, they assist a Mega Cheep-Cheep in chasing the losers. Another Cheep Cheep appears in one of the pictures in Picture Perfect. In Mario Super Sluggers, they appear on Daisy Cruiser jumping around on the deck at night. Gooper Blooper appears with the Cheep-Cheeps.
