Entertainment Software Rating Board

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) is an organization that advertises guidelines and online privacy principles of video games, and, as the name suggests, rates them. The ESRB rates games only in the U.S. and Canada.

The current ratings used by the ESRB are as follows:
eC- Early Childhood: Content suitable for ages 3 and older
E- Everyone: Content suitable for ages 6 and older.
E10+- Everyone 10+: Content suitable for ages 10 and older.
T- Teen: Content suitable for ages 13 and up.
M- Mature: Content suitable for ages 17 and up. Many retailers have policies against selling M rated games to children under 17.
Ao- Adults Only: Content suitable for adults only.
RP- Rating Pending: The game rating is in progress.
