Groudon is a type of Pokemon that comes out of a Poke Ball in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is a new Pokemon, for it has not appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee nor Super Smash Bros. Anyway, when Groudon appears, the huge monster uses "Overheat" to attack. The huge creature will cover itself with a red, fiery aura. It damages anyone who comes in contact with it, except the summoner. However, Groudon does not walk about during this attack, for all it does is turn around and roar. The effect given off by touching Groudon is similar to that of touching Moltres, however, Groudon is twice the size of Moltres and lasts on the stage longer. Moltres also has the ability to OHKO. However, as big as Groudon is, his attack is way weaker than that of Moltres. Players who come in contact with Groudon will take very little Damage and receive very little Knockback for each hit. The Knockback is so low that it cannot KO players at all. Even though trying to avoid touching Groudon is rather difficult, Groudon is marked as one of the less, if not the least, effective Legendary Pokemon in the game due to its low damage output and low knockback (causing an inability to KO). Like every other Pokemon from a Poke Ball in the game, Groudon also has its own Trophy.
Groudon's Trophy in SSBB
A Continent Pokemon. In ancient times, it brought about droughts to save people who had had suffered from floods. It is normally found in the profound depths of the earth, where it slumbers in magma. With a mighty roar, it uses Earthquake to shake the ground and mow down enemies. In battle, it summons sunlight to the bathe the area. It once had an epic battle with Kyogre.
Groudon Illusion Glitch
If a player throws a Poke Ball upward to an enclosed area that is smaller than Groudon (more effective in custom stages, but also works on the PictoChat stage) and ends up getting a Groudon, the Groudon will permanently get stuck, and no other damage between characters will occur. To see this glitch actually happening watch this video here: SSBB metagross and groudon glitch.
Groudon, as it appears on the stage, Norfair, of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Dang, ain't that monster huge?!
