Mega icicle

A giant Icicle as it appears in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Icicles are obstacles that appear in New Super Mario Bros. WiiWario Land: Shake It!Super Smash Bros. BrawlKirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Return to Dream Land. They are blue pointed icicles that appear on ceilings in cold areas. In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Icicles appear in World 3-3 and World 3's Castle. They will fall off their ceiling when Mario (or LuigiBlue ToadYellow Toad) get near them. Should the heroes touch these Icicles on their ceiling or get hit by a falling icicle, they will take damage or die at small form. Giant Icicles appear as well. When these icicles fall, they will stick into the ground, unlike Icicles which break when they hit something. At this point, the giant Icicles can be walked on and used to reach higher areas. When an icicle falls, another Icicle will replace it and the process is repeated. This does not occur with giant Icicles. In Wario Land: Shake It!, they appear in the level Slipshod Slopes. The Icicles appear in a cove part and are large in size. When Wario performs the Earthquake Punch thee giant icicles will fall, defeating any enemy underneath them. Defeating 5 enemies using these icicles is a mission in that level. Should Wario get hit by these giant icicles, he will take damage. These icicles can be stood on when fallen, however, they will break if stood on for too long. New icicles will form on the piece of ceiling that the old, destroyed icicles were located on. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Icicles make a minor appearance in the stage, Summit. Players who touch these Icicles will take Damage. In Kirby's Epic Yarn, Icicles appear in Snow Land, mostly in Mt. Slide. They are large in size. They will repeated fall and can be traveled over by Kirby or Prince Fluff in Spin Boarder form. In Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Icicles appear in White Wafers and will fall when Kirby (or Meta KnightKing DededeBandana Waddle Dee) get near them. If these Icicles are touched, the heroes will take damage.

  • Icicles in Kirby's Epic Yarn appear almost identical to the Stalactites found in the same game, except that Icicles are blue and Stalactites are purple.
  • Icicles greatly resemble Spikes, however, they fall off the ceiling while Spikes do not.
