KO-1-

Link has Koed Mario.

A KO (short for knock out or knockback) is when you hit a blast line in Super Smash Bros, Super Smash Bros Melee and Super Smash Bros Brawl. There are many types of KOs- Star KO, Screen KO, One Hit KO, Self Destruct and Fall. When you or opponents get Koed (normal KO) a blast line will appear (as shown in the picture) and you will lose a life (and points in a time or bonus brawl) and appear on a revival platform if you have more stock lives. If not you will be taken to the continue screen where you must pay (except in The Subspace Emissary, instead you lose stickers and sometimes trophies) a certain amount of coins to continue on. The continue screen is only in Solo not normal Brawls. You instead lose. Enemies in The Subspace Emissary don't always get Koed the way characters do. They sometimes bounce around as if they were bouncy balls and disappear. In Melee's Adventure Mode when you defeat enemies it looks as if they were kicked off the screen. A KO point goes to whoever Koed the character. If you threw an item at an opponent and the item Koed him/her the KO point will go to you since you threw the item at the opponent. Some KOs aren't set as KO points but as Self Destructs and Falls.
