Mumbies are enemies in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. They are small, floating mummy heads. Mumbies also have red eyes. Mumbies are quite common in the game, for they can be found in Raisin Ruins, Nutty Noon etc. A Mumbies performs in a strange way, quite similar to another enemy in another game series on this site (guess who it is!). Mumbies can at first be found just floating in the air. They will not attack Kirby or his buddies (Meta Knight, King Dedede, Bandana Waddle Dee) even if they do see the heroes. However, if the heroes had to pass them, the Mumbies (singular) or Mumbies (plural, they are the same for both singular and plural) will turn around and slowly follow the heroes. The Mumbies' goal is to slowly ram into the heroes when the heroes aren't facing them. If the heroes had to turn around while a Mumbies or group of Mumbies was following them, the Mumbies will stop all movement. They will only continue following /moving towards the heroes when the heroes are not facing them any more. Mumbies can easily be defeated however, and they do not give any Copy Ability if Inhaled. Mumbies appear in the Item challenge in the game as well.
- Mumbies' name is a combination of mummies and zombies. They can be considered a mummy since they are floating heads wrapped in tissue, and zombies since they slowly follow the heroes in attempt to hit them.
- If you have not found out yet, Mumbies attack almost exactly like the Boos from the Mario series.
