Paragoombas are enemies that appear in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Paper Mario, and Mario Super Sluggers. They are a sub-species of Goombas. They resemble Goombas with wings. They use these wings to fly or jump high. In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, they only appeared in World 7. They use their wings to jump higher in this game. One jump on them turns them into normal Goombas, two stomps defeats them, and a Ground Pound defeats them instantly. Paragoombas are quite common in this game. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Paragoombas make their first 3D appearance. If Mario jumps on them, they get flattened and disappear instead of becoming a normal Goomba. Their wings disappear if they are eaten by Yoshi. A giant sub-species, known as Huge Paragoombas, appear in the Supermassive Galaxy. In Super Paper Mario, Paragoombas appear as basic enemies in Lineland, Gloam Valley, and The Bitlands. They can be defeated by such attacks as being jumped on, or by being attacked by a Pixl. By jumping on a Paragoomba, it automatically loses its wings. They appear in Flipside Pit of 100 Trials in room 12. In Mario Super Sluggers, the Paragoomba is a playable character.
