Pokeys are cactus enemies that appear in Super Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii. There are tall cactus with eyes, and a pink flower. They have spikes on them. In Super Paper Mario, Pokeys appear in places such as Gap of Crag. A type of Pokey called the Poison Pokey appears in Castle Bleck and the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials. A new sub-species was introduced, the Dark Pokeys. They only appeared in the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials. In Super Mario Galaxy a giant Pokey appears in the Good Egg Galaxy. Regular sized, multi-colored Pokeys appear in the Dusty Dune Galaxy. These Pokeys come in two colors-red and green. The green Pokeys can be defeated by jumping on their heads. Green Pokeys appear before the Red Pokeys. Red Pokeys can only be defeated by dissembling their body segments with a spin. They can also be defeated by jumping on their heads when it is low enough. Giant Pokeys can be defeated by throwing a coconut at them, then jumping on or spinning near their heads. In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Pokeys appear in World 2 (NSMB Wii). Their look is slightly different than before. Pokeys dance to the beat by growing leaves on their spikes. If Yoshi eats a Pokey in this form, he will lay an egg with coins or a Power Up. Pokeys only appear in World 2-5. Pokeys also appear in Dry Dry Ruins in Mario Kart Wii. They spin the player if he/she comes in contact with them.
