Staryu is a type of Pokemon that comes out of a Poke Ball in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is among the common types of Pokemon that come out of a Poke Ball, meaning that the appearance of Staryu is quite often. When Staryu appears, it uses its attack, which is called Swift. With that being said, when Staryu is released from a Poke Ball, it targets an opponent and follows that opponent for a short time before it fires a barrage of star-shaped projectiles at the targeted opponent. Staryu fires its barrage of star-shaped projectiles at a fast rate. The targeted opponent or any other opponent that comes in contact with Staryu's barrage of star-shaped projectiles will usually be trapped in midair while Staryu is firing at them, and will take Damage. Any opponent that touches Staryu itself will also take Damage, however, they will also have some Knockback if they touch Staryu. The Knockback is great so, KOs are possible for those who come in contact with Staryu. Staryu's attack can easily be missed if an opponent happens to move out of the way when Staryu fires its barrage of star-shaped projectiles. This is because Staryu cannot follow a targeted opponent after it fires its barrage of star-shaped projectiles. In fact, Staryu can't even move when it's firing its barrage of star-shaped projectiles! Staryu's attack can also be reflected by using Pit'sMirror Shield, Fox's, Falco's, or Wolf'sReflector, or Lucas'/Ness'PSI Magnet (even though Ness'/Lucas' PSI Magnet absorbs the attack instead of reflects it). Also, Staryu's attack can also be avoided if players/opponents stay behind, under or over it while it is firing its star-shaped projectiles. Staryu's star-shaped projectiles don't have any Knockback at all, not even when the attack is over, unlike most other attacks from other Pokemon that come out of a Poke Ball. However, touching it has great Knockback. Staryu's body nor star-shaped projectiles can harm the player who summoned it (the summoner). Staryu also has its own Trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Staryu's Trophy in SSBB
A Star Shape Pokemon. It gathers in groups and flashes the red jewel in the center of its body in time to the twinkling of the stars in the night sky. If it loses appendages, it can regenerate them right away. It can also use Camouflage, which allows it to change its type to match the surrounding terrain. If a Water Stone is used on it, it evolves into Starmie.
