Super Mario Sunshine is a Mario game for the GameCube that is the predecessor to Super Mario Galaxy and is also the GameCube's second best game.

The goal of this game is to clean up Isle Delfino and tell out the real culprit. Mario is mistaken for Shadow Mario for dirtying up Isle Delfino in graffiti. He then finds out F.L.U.D.D. and uses it to defeat enemies/bosses and clean up the place. There are many levels Mario can go in, some later to be unlocked. These levels are Delfino Airstrip, Delfino Plaza, Noki Bay, Pinna Park, Ricco Harbor, Pianta Village, Sirena Beach, Bianco Hills and Corona Mountain. Pinna Park and Pianta Village do not have graffiti. Each level has 8 episodes; the last usually a Red Coin challenge. There are 4 collectibles. Yellow Coins add one coin to your coin meter. If Mario collects 100 in a level he will obtain a Shine Sprite. Blue Coins are blue and hard to reach coins. Mario must use his skills to collect these. He can trade these in at the boathouse at Delfino Plaza for a Shine Sprite. Red Coins are just like Blue Coins only red. Collecting all 8 in an episode rewards you with Shine Sprite. Shine Sprites are the most important out of all collectibles. Collect 25 of them to unlock the Turbo Nozzle and collect 40 of them to unlock the Rocket Nozzle. As Mario gets near 100 Shine Sprites total, Delfino Plaza will get brighter and Piantas will get nicer and worried about changes. They ask if this is the end of the game. F.L.U.D.D. has 4 nozzles as explained, two are unlockables. In ever episode there is a Pianta in a Hawaiian Shirt and sunglasses. Mario must talk to him and he will get sunglasses to wear. He can take them off by just talking to him again. Yoshis are available, but Mario must first give them the fruit they are dreaming of. Yoshi can spit juice, however, Yoshis cannot survive in water. There are many enemies, such as Pokeys, and Piranha Plants made of goop. King Boo, Bowser/Bowser Jr., The Manta Ray, Petey Piranha, Eely Mouth and Wiggler are bosses in this game.
