Super Thwomps are enemies in New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2. They are enormous Thwomps who attack the same way as normal Thwomps (slamming onto the ground and moving back up). In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Thwomps, along with Thwomps, are rare, only appearing in World 1's Castle. They are covered in large spikes. When the player nears them, they slam onto the ground, however, unlike Thwomps, when they slam down, they break white tiles on the castle's floor. Then, they move back up. Any contact with a Super Thwomp, results in the player losing a form, or dying at small form. However, some Star Coins can only be reached if a Super Thwomp breaks the white tiles. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Thwomps only appear on the Starting Planet of the Supermassive Galaxy. Only two Super Thwomps are on this planet of the galaxy at the very top. They also slam down on the ground, but have shadows that can be seen. The shadows can help Mario/Luigi get pass them by telling him the Super Thwomp's slamming area. If a Super Thwomp crushes Mario/Luigi it is instant death for them (they lose a life). A good way to get pass these two Super Thwomps is to Long Jump. The two Super Thwomps can also be Wall-Jumped up. In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Thwomps can only be defeated by Starman's invincibility. However, in Super Mario Galaxy 2, they cannot be defeated.
