Where's Waldo?: The Fantastic Journey is a multiplatform game based on the book series Where's Waldo. It features the game play which is also in the books, searching for different people and objects in different scenarios.
The game features twelve worlds in which the player must find characters and items within a time limit, with more being unlocked later on in the game. Waldo's dog Woof gives you hints during the game, alerting you when you are near one of the objects. Collecting Woof Bones prolong the effect and lets you use this feature more often.
There are two modes: Party and Single Traveller. Party mode is a multiplayer competiton, where up to two players complete to find Waldo first. Single Traveller is a single player mode. Each level you have to find Waldo and hidden items quickly, and your performance gets you a star ranking. If you achieve a five star ranking, Wizard Whitebeard will present you with a gift.
Before and after each quest, the players are at Waldo's Worlds, the central hub of the game. In this area, players receive updates from Wizard Whitebeard and Wenda. New worlds are unlocked by meeting certain conditions. Each world is represented by a landmark. Below are the names of the worlds.
- The Gobbling Gluttons
- The Battling Monks
- The Carpet Flyers
- The Great Ball-Game Players
- The Ferocious Red Dwarves
- The Nasty Nasties
- The Fighting Forester
- The Deep-Sea Divers
- The Knights of the Magic Flag
- The Unfriendly Giants

The game was created as part of a multi-year deal between Ludia Inc. and Entertainment Rights announced in February 2009.
